A Shot From Down Under And Over A Bit

The picture below was taken in New Zealand last February. My Significant Other and myself had rented an oceanfront cottage (or "Bach" in the Kiwi vernacular) for a week and on the day we travelled from Auckland to the cottage, just as we approached the location the skies opened up and great gobs of rain fell from the sky.

The picture was taken just after we arrived, during a short lull in the downpour. As soon as our gear was in from the car, Debbie made her way out to dabble her feet in the ocean, as is her custom.

The First Picture Show

The following is a picture of a woodpecker that was incrementally deconstructing a dead tree on the neighbour's property. I took this shot in May 2006 and I saw him around for a few weeks following, but he seems to have given up on this tree and moved on to greyer, deader, pastures.

Do note that there is a bigger picture behind the small picture above. Simply click on the picture for a much bigger helping of woodpeckery goodness. Be honest, now. You snickered to yourself when you read the word "woodpeckery", didn't you.

This clicking on the picture rule will apply to all of the pictures posted here regardless of their woodpecker content.
